Summary

Lock house to be built at Dudbridge on plan of that built at Double Lock. Estimates from Edward Keene, John Davis and Richard Cook.
Clerk to make Mr Hawker an offer to buy all the withy beds at 8 guineas per annum, not exceeding 8 years, crops to be brought up canal at expense of Company, or sale will annually to him at market price.
Land at Dudbridge purchased from late John Mossley, now let to Mr Jennings at £1 11s 6d per annum, to be sold to Mr Benjamin Grazebrook for £50.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held on Board of the Companys Barge on Tuesday the 6^th of June 1786
Present: Nathaniel Winchcombe, John Colborne, John Hollings, Ben^n Grazebrook, Thomas Arundell.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Our Clerk Reported that M^r Ew^d Hil has accepted the offer of Twelve Guineas for mounding the Road leading to his Bridge & has received the money & given a Receipt for the same.
Our Clerk Reported that he has applied to Mess^rs Lane & Whitcombe to prepare a Deed of Conveyance from the Executors of the late M^r Peach to the Company, & they promised the same should be ready & sent to M^r Pierce in Bristol as on Saturday last, to be executed by the Parties there, & returned to M^r Cooper.
M^r John Colborne attended on behalf of the Representatives of William Knight Esq^r deceased to make out their Claim for four Shares No 9, 10, 142 & 143 in the Stroudwater Navigation whereof the said M^r Knight deceased died possessed off and produced an Administration of the Goods Chattels and Credits of said William Knight deceased who died Intestate Granted by the Perogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury unto Alicia Rainsford Widow and Martha Pettat (Wife of Richard Pettat Esq^r) the Nieces and next of Kin of the said William Knight and bearing the date of 23^d of May 1786 Whereby the said Alicia Rainsford and Martha Pettat are become Intitled to the said Shares whereof the said William Knight so dies possess'd of. And the said Claim in hereby Admitted accordingly.
M^r Tho^s Barnard having applied for an allowance on account of his being deprived (by the works of the Thames & Severn Canal) of fulfilling his Contract entered into with the Company the 11^th October 1784 for making bricks on the Meadow at Walbridge, Ordered that he be discharged from all Penaltys theron, on payment of the Sum of Five pounds.
Ordered that our Clerk do pay the Rev^d M^r Davis for the Tythe of Kemmetts Orchard at the Rate of three Shillings per Acre per Annum from the time that M^r Pashley has had the Premises as a Consideration for taking care of the Lock and also continue to pay the same in future.
Ordered that a Lock House be built at Dudbridge (on the same Plan as that already built at Double Lock) and that any two of the Committee do attend to fix the most convenient spot for that purpose, And that our Clerk do procure Estimates from Ew^d Keene, John Davis and Rich^d Cook for building the said House and that any two of the Committee do fix with one of them for compleating the same.
M^r Hawker having applied to buy the Crops of Wythys Ordered that our Clerk do make him an offer of all the Wythy beds at Eight Guineas per Annum for any term not exceeding Eight Years the Crops to be brought up the Canal at the expence of the Company without any further Charge of Tonnage or Freight. Or will sell the Wythys annually at a Market price to M^r Hawker.
Agee'd to sell the piece of Land at Dudbridge (purchased by the Company of the laste John Mossley & no let to M^r Jennings at One pound eleven Shillings & Sixpence per Ann.) to M^r Ben^n Grazebrook for the Sum of Fifty Pounds, to be taken to at Midsummer next & as soon as the Title of said Land is made out to the Company We do authorise & direct our Clerk to make use of the Seal of the Company to Convey the same to the said Ben^n Grazebrook, who agrees to pay five per Cent Interest for the s^d Fifty pounds without any deduction whatsoever until the said Land is Conveyed to him & the money paid.
Ordered that all Persons who are found fishing in the Fish Ponds belonging to the Company near Sauls Bridge be prosecuted for the same.
Adjourned this Meeting to Thursday the 5^th of October next at five O'Clock in the afternoon at the George Inn at Stroud.
