Gates to be erected at wharf at Dudbridge to prevent depredations.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the George Inn in Stroud on Thursday the 3^rd of December 1795
Present: Rev^d W^m Ellis, Sam^l Wathen, Benj^n Grazebrook, Rowles Scudamore, John Allaway.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Our Clerk reports that the continuation of the Wall at the Bason at Framiload is in great forwardness.
Our Clerk reported that the Terms with M^r King for Damages are settled.
Continued the Order respecting the Drain through M^r Cookes Land.
M^r Franklin having attended with an Estimate and it being no approved off he is desired to produce another at the next Committee Meeting.
It being the Oppinion of the Committee that a Culvert under the Canal will more effectually take off the superfluous Water at M^r Hoggs, and as that cannot be executed this Season, Ordered that the present Ditch be deepened and a small Flood Gate erected by way of experiment.
Ordered that a Pair of Gates be erected at the Wharf at Dudbridge to prevent Depredations.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Thursday the 17^th Ins^t at 12 o'Clock in the forenoon at the George Inn in Stroud.
