Mr Newman, principal clerk to Thames & Severn Canal Company, applied to Committee to relinquish tonnage payable during repair of Blunder Lock. Thames & Severn intend to convey coals by land ½ mile from level below Blunder Lock to level above.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee room at Walbridge on Tuesday the 17^th of June 1800
Present: Rev^d Jos^h Colborne, Ew^d Wood, Nath^l Wathen, Nath^l Jones, Jos^h Grazebrooke.
Read the Minutes of the last Meeting.
Continued the Order respecting the Warehouse at Bristol Road.
Ordered that the Bills delivered by Mess^rs Whitcombe, Phillpott & Griffith amountin gto 23^£..1^s..19^d be forthwith discharged.
M^r Newman principal Clerk to the Thames and Severn Canal Company requested our Clerk to apply to the Committee to relinquish that Tonnage payable to our Comapany for the conveyance of Goods (exclusive of Coals) upon our Canal during the time taken up in the ensuing repair of Blunder Lock as the Thames & Severn Canal Co intent to convey Goods by land about the distance of half a mile from the Levell below Blunder Lock to the levell above that Lock. Ordered that this application be taken into consideration and determined on at a subsequent Meeting of the Committee.
Adjourn'd this Meeting to Tuesday the 8^h of July next at six o'Clcok in the afternoon at the Committee room at Walbridge, The Committee having agreed to meet to survey the repairs at the Blunder Lock at 4 o'Clock the same afternoon.
