Summary

As a result of two lives lost at Ryeford and Eastington, a fence was ordered to be erected between the millpond and the towing path and the bridge painted white with railings on both sides at Ryeford and a secure fence on Eastington Bridge.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 16th day of February 1848
Present: M^r Hen^y Sikes, Jn^o Holbrow, Will^m Fryer, J H Warman, G H A Beard Chairman, Tho^s C Croome. Rich^d Martin.
Ordered, in consequence of two lives having been lost, one at Ryeford and one at Eastington Bridge,
That a Fence be erected between the Mill pond and Towing path at Ryeford, the Bridge painted white, with Railing on both sides the Bridge. And also a secure Fence on the upper side of Eastington Bridge.
Ordered that the following BIlls be paid:
