Summary

Mr Cooper the auditor found the books and vouchers correct.
Enquiries should be made on the check kept at Framilode on the quantity of coal landed.
In future, when Mr Driver suspects fraud on coals carried, he should have the cargo weighed.
Mr Driver to make arrangements with Capt Clegram on behalf of Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co for repairs of the lock gates near the paper mill at Whitminster.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 19th day of April 1848
Present: M^r Hen^y Sikes, M^r T C Croome, J H Warman, Fred^k Eycott, Rich^d Martin, W^m Jn^o Wood, G H A Beard, Jn^o Holbrow Chairman.
M^r Cooper the Auditor attended and stated that he has examined all the Books and Vouchers and found all the Items correct.
Jn^o Burbidge our Clerk at Framilode attended and gave answer to the various enquiries relative to the check kept at Framilode on the quantities of Coals put out there and it was ordered that the Chain at the Bridge near Framilode be repaired and kept locked except when required to open and that Burbidge be directed to use greater diligence in checking the quantities of Coals put out and the Tonnage thereon and that this order be communicated in writing by M^r Hawker to Burbidge.
Ordered that in future that when M^r Driver suspects any Fraud in the quantity of tonnage on Coals carried in Boats or Barges he do have the Cargo weighed.
M^r Driver having produced a comparative statement of the cost of Oak Timbers & Deal Baulk for Lock Gates,
Ordered that he be authorized to embrace any opportunity which may present itself of buying Oak Timber suitable for the purpose, so far as his discretion may direct.
Ordered that M^r Driver do make the necessary arrangements with Capt Clegram on behalf of the Glocester and Berkeley Canal for the Repairs of the Lock Gates near the Paper Mill at Whitminster.
M^r Driver having reported that some Repairs to the amount of £7 or 8£ are required to the house occupied by Fred^k Nurse at Dudbridge.
Ordered that the same be done.
Ordered that Cha^s Hobbs be allowed £4..10..- out of his Rent for the past year.
