Tender by Mr Rob Osborne of Bristol to supply shears for crane at Dudbridge at 4d per pound accepted.
Water to be drawn off the short pound at Dudbridge for a day to allow repair of gates and paddles.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on the 19th day of July 1848
Present: M^r Hen G A Beard, M^r Fred^k Eycott Chairman, Hen^y Sikes, Jn^o Holbrow, Jn^o H Warman, Tho^s C Croome, Will^m Fryer, Cha^s H Fisher.
Ordered that a communication be opened with the County of Glocester Bank for the purpose of having one Individual appointed as a Treasurer (with Security to the amound of £3000) in lieu of the Company and that M^r Croome be deputed to make the requisite arrangements with the Bank.
Ordered that the Tender now produced by M^r Driver from M^r Rob^t Osborne of Bristol to supply the Shears to the Crane at Dudbridge at four pence per pound be accepted.
Ordered that the usual annual Inspection of the Canal by the Committee do take place on Thursday the 17th August and that the usual monthly meeting of the Committee for next month be summoned for that day to meet on board the Companys Boat at Dudbridge Wharf at half past 9 O'Clock A M.
M^r Driver reported that it will be requisite to draw the water off the short pond at Dudbridge for One day during the next month for the repair of the Gates and Paddles.
Ordered that the same be done.
Ordered that M^r Hawker do return the sum of £4388..4..4 as the profits of the Canal for the last year as Assessment in pursuance of the Property and Income Tax Act and £56 as the annual value of the House and Wharf at Wallbridge.
