George Henry Augustus Beard claimed shares nos.71,97,180, will of Abiah Beard.
Houses at Dudbridge and part of wharf let to Samuel Critchley at £25 per annum with conditions.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 21st day of November 1849
Present: M^r Hen^y Sikes, M^r Cha^s Hooper Chairman, Jn^o H Warman, Fred^k Eycott, Tho^s C Croome, Geo Hen^y A Beard, Cha^s H Fisher.
M^r Geo Hen^y Aug^t Beard of Stanley S^t Leonards in the County of Glocester Gentleman one of the Executors of Abiah Beard late of the City of Glocester Spinster deceased attended on behalf of himself and Frances Lockey of the City of Gloucester Widow and made out their claim as Executors of the said Abiah Beard to three Shares N^os 71, 180 & 97 of the Undertaking of the Stroudwater Navigation lately belonging to and now standing in the name of the said Abiah Beard on the books of the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation by producing the Probate of the Will of the said Abiah Beard bearing date of the 11th day of March 1847 whereby she appointed the said George Henry Augustus Beard and Frances Lockey Executor and Executrix of her said Will which was duly proved by the said George Henry Augustus Beard and Frances Lockey in the Prerogative Court of the Archbishop of Canterbury on the eighth day of November 1849 and also producing the original Tickets or Titles to the said three shares and the claim of the said George Henry Augustus Beard on behalf of himself and Frances Lockey is admitted accordingly.
M^r Samuel Critchley attended and it was resolved to let him the Houses at Dudbridge with a portion of the Wharf which is to be marked and set out by M^r Hawker and M^r Driver from the 25th December next at an annual rent of £25 subject to an allowance of £5 at Christmas in case he shall land and sell 1000 tons of Coals from Dudbridge Wharf or £10 in care he shall land and sell 2000 in any year and that an Agreement be entered into with him accordingly.
