Committee commenced annual inspection on board Company’s boat at Wallbridge and proceeded down canal.
Lower gates ordered at Double Locks as current gates beyond further repair. Stoppage to be made from 5 to 12 September.
At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held on board the Company's Boat on Tuesday the 24^th day of August 1860
Present: M^r Cha^s Hawker, M^r H Harris Chairman, C Hooper, T M Croome, G H A Beard, N S Marling, J H Warman, H H Wilton, F Eycott.
The Committee commenced their annual inspection at Wallbridge this day and proceeded down the Canal.
The lower pair of Gates at the Double Locks were found to be in a bad state, having been repairs as long as it was possible and a new pair was ordered to be put in and that a Stoppage of the Canal for the purpose do take place to commence on Wednesday 5^th September next and to end on Wednesday 12^th both days inclusive.
The Committee was pleased to find that the general works of the Canal were in good order and condition and they attribute this very much to the care and attentions bestowed upon them by their Surveyor.
