Summary

J Clark and J Clift paid the fines imposed on them at the last meeting.
Mr Ford’s request to reduce the tonnage to and from the Ryeford to 6d per ton for everything and to allow 10 sacks of flour to the ton as it will facilitate the export of flour considered. If less than 10,000 tons p.a. be undertaken, he offered to pay 2d per ton additional at the end of any year. Committee could no accede to this request but are willing to consider any further proposal made which relates to new traffic to be brought upon the canal, or to the mills, not consisting of coal as they intend to reconsider their scale of tonnages generally.
Messrs Croome, Beard, Captain C Fisher, Mr Kearsey to be a committee to consider the question of tonnage generally on the canal.
Mr Kearsey authorised to withdraw the Notice to Quit the Wharf at Dudbridge given to Mr G Nurse, on such terms as he considers desirable.
A letter from the Reverend H Dombrain requested a subscription to the Framilode National Schools. £2 given.
Stroud Highway Board to rent a pen at Wallbridge Wharf at £3 p.a. from the 1st January.

At a Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 26^th day of November 1867
Present: M^R J C Hallewell, W W Kearsey Chairman, F S Thornton, J T Fisher, T Marling, C H Fisher, G H A Beard.
The Clerk reported that J Clark, and J Clift, had paid the Fines imposed on them by the last Meeting.
In reference to an application from Mess^rs Ford of which the following is a copy:
"We beg to ask you to reduce the Tonnage on your Canal, to and from the Ryeford, to 6^d per Ton for everything, and to allow 10 sacks of Flour to the Tone, as it will facilitate the export of Flour. If we do not carry 10,000 Tons per annum, we undertake to pay 2^d per ton additional at the end of any year in which we have not carried the quantity above names (viz 10,000 Tons)".
The Canal Company find there are many difficulties in dealing with Mess^rs Ford's proposition, and they do not feel themselves justified in acceding to it. They are, however, willing to consider any further proposal they may make which relates to new traffic to be brought upon the Canal, or, to traffic to their Mills, not consisting of Coals, and they intend to reconsider their scale of Tonnages generally.
A copy of this resolution to be forwarded to Mess^rs Ford.
That the following Gentlemen, viz M^r Croome, M^r Beard, Capt^n C H Fisher, M^r Kearsey, be a Committee to consider the question of Tonnages generally on the Canal.
Under the circumstances now stated:-
Resolved that M^r Kearsey be authorised on the part of the Canal Company to withdraw the Notice to quit the Wharf at Dudbridge given to M^r G Nurse, on such terms as he considers desirable.
A Letter from the Rev^d H Dombrain was read soliciting a subscription to the Framilode National Schools.
Ordered that £2 be given.
A Letter for M^r W Heelas was read, informing this Company that the Stroud Highway Board, would rent a Pen at Wallbridge Wharf on the terms on which it was offered to them viz £3 per annum from 1^st January next.
