Summary

Trustees of Cainscross Turnpike Trust offered the cottage at Chippenham’s Platt to the Company for £50. The cottage was not thought to be worth that much, but Mr Beard and Mr Stanton to inspect the same.
Mr Thornton asked the Committee to allow the executors of William Knee to place a person in the Ship Inn, in the event of the present tenant Mrs Knee leaving the same. Not allowed, the Company to choose their own tenant and the executors give notice on the 25 March to leave on the September 29.
The question of the Stonehouse and Nailsworth Co’s judgement debt was brought forward by Mr Croome but discussion was delayed until the next meeting.

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Thursday teh 15^th day of February 1877 @ 3,o,clock pm
Present: Mr G H A Beard Chairman, Mr J T Stanton, Mr E C Little, Major Fisher, Mr C H Hooper, Mr T Marling, Mr J T Fisher, Mr T M Croome.
[5] An offer having been made by the Trustees of the Cain's Cross Division of the Turnpike Trust of the Cottage at Chippenham Platt, to the Company to sell the same fro £50. The matter was discussed and as it was thought the Cottage was not worth that amount, Mr Beard and Mr J T Stanton were requested to inspect the same, and report at the next Meeting.
[25] Mr Thornton one of the executors under the Will of the Late William Knee, attended and asked that Committee to allow the executors to place a person in the Ship Inn, in the event of the present tenant Mrs Knee leaving the same, but as the Committee could not allow this to be done, it was decided that the Company choose their own tenant and that the executors give notice on the 25^th day of March next to leave on the 29^th day of September 1877.
[45] The question of the Stonehouse & Nailsworth Railway Judgement Debt was brought forward by Mr Croome but as Mr Kearse the Cos Solicitor was not present, it was decided to adjourn the Meeting until Thursday the 22^nd inst and that Notices be issued to that effect.
