Summary

Clerk to advertise for tenders for building a new boat, as Mr Beard and Mr Stanton reported that the present boat was unfit for service.
Mr Kearsey to prepare a contract for the tenancy of the house, stables, weighing machine and garden at Dudbridge to Messrs Stephens & Co, who are to pay all expenses.
Mr T Marling produced an extract from the Minutes of Severn Bridge Railway Company (copied into the minute book) where it was resolved that arrangements would be made with the Canal Company to allow half the existing tolls be charged to the upward traffic of the River, also to all other River traffic from below the site of the Bridge to places above Gloucester as well as to the Stroudwater Canal.

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Thursday the 18^th day of July 1878 @ 3,o,clock pm
Present: Mr G H A Beard Chairman, Mr J T Stanton, Mr W W Kearsey, Mr T M Croome, Mr C H Hooper, Mr E C Little, Mr S Phipps, Mr T Marling.
[4] Mr Beard and Mr Stanton reported that the Ice Boat was not in a fit state for service and recommended that a new one be built.
Ordered that the Clerk advertise in the Gloucester & Stroud papers asking for tenders for Building a new one.
[32] A receipt from Mr Kingdom the Treasurer for share certificate No 199, belonging to the Clerk, was produced to the Committee in compliance with a Resolution at the Committee Meeting held on the 29^th June last.
[30] In consequence of the dissolution of partnership between Messrs Williams & Stephens, an applicaition was made by Messrs Stephens & Company to be allowed to take the Tenancy of the house Stables Weighing Machine and Garden at Wallbridge.
Resolved that Messrs Stephens & Co be allowed to take the above named premises at the resent Rent of £28 per annum from the 24^th day of June last, and that Mr Kearsey the Cos Solicitor prepare the demise. Messrs Stephens & Company paying all expenses.
[4] Staging around the piers of New Railway Bridge at Sharpness.
Mr Thomas Marling placed before the Committee an extract from the Minutes of the Board of Directors of the Severn Railway Company, the following of which is a copy:- (viz)

With reference to the application of the Barge Owners of Droitwich of the 10^th May,
Resolved
that as soon as the intermediate staging for the construction of the two large spans of the Bridge over the "fair way" of the River is commenced, an so long as it is necessary to retain it, arrangements will be made with the Canal Company to allow upward traffic of the River to pass through the Canal on all tides, during the usual hours, at one half the existing tolls on the cargo; and this arrangement shall apply also to all other River traffic from below the site of the Bridge to places above Gloucester as well as to the Stroudwater Canal.
This undertaking on part of this Company is not given or to be taken as any acknowledgement of liability on their part.
