Summary

Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Tuesday the 20th September 1887 @ 3.o.clock pm
Present: Mr E C Little, Sir W H Marling, Mr C H Hooper, Mr G H A Beard, Mr W^m Davies junr.
[26] Ordered that the next Committee Meeting be held on Tuesday the 18^th day of October next at 3,o,clock pm and the General Half-yearly Meeting on the same day at 3.30 pm.
[31] The Tithe rent charge of 3.5 claimed by Mr Bengough for Bristol Road wharf was ordered to be paid.
[50] A correspondence between Mr Arkell, Farmer of Downfield & the Clerk of the Company respecting the payment by the former of 2/6 for taking water from the Canal was read and the claim made by the latter approved of.
[46] Mr Howard having written a letter to the Chairman asking for a reduction of tonnage on Coal to Wallbridge wharf, & the Clerk was instructed to reply that if such a reduction was made it would be an infringement of the Agreement between this Co and the Thames & Severn Canal Co.
[4] The Clerk was directed to write to Mr Vizard, Clerk to the Wheatenhurst Highway Board asking him to do certain repairs to the Roadway over the Canal Bridge at Ryeford, for preventing the washing of drift, etc, into the Canal.
[15] An application made by James Smart in person for a drawback of £1..16..4 tonnage charged on some Stone rom Rowley & on timber taken to Chippenham was refused.
