Summary

Clerk had written to Clerk of Stroud Rural District Council, with reference to Council paying acknowledgement re gateway opening on to towing path at Ebley.
Clerk had met Mr Grey-Robinson and Mr T Boulton, the builder, at Parklands Bridge and advised them on repairs.
New byelaws, as amended by Counsel to Board of Trade, were approved, subject to addition, made by him, to no. 27 being omitted.
Wheatenhurst Rural District Council wrote that Eastington Bridge was a danger to public, being narrow and steep. Could Company do anything to improve it? Company would facilitate improvement but not able to bear cost. Suggestion that District Council and County Council jointly carry out work of widening and improving approach to bridge.
Clerk to inform Mr James Stephens of Stonehouse that Company would charge 5s for each trial for testing motor boats on canal.
Clerk had written to Mr Kimmins re gravel washed into canal at Ryeford during storms.
Executors of will of Maria Whitworth Jones, deceased, claimed shares held by her. .

[1905 July.] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 19^th day of July 1905 @ 4.15 o'clock pm
Present. Mr H Hamilton Mills Chairman, Mr P J Evans, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr W Davies, Mr W J Stanton, Mr Whittingham Solicitor in attendance.
[Stroud RDC gateway at Ebley.] The Clerk reported that he had written to Mr F Winterbotham, Clerk to the Stroud Rural District Council with reference to the Council paying an acknowledgment in respect of the gateway opening on to the towing path at Ebley, and was awaiting his reply.
[Parklands Bridge.] The Clerk reported that he had met Mr Grey Robinson and Mr F Boulton, the builder, at Parklands Bridge, and advised them as to carrying out the necessary repairs.
[Bye-laws.] The proposed new Bye-laws as further amended by the Counsel to the Board of Trade were approved, subject to the addition made by him to N^o 27, being omitted. Mr Whittingham was requested to obtain the sanction of the Board of Trade to the omission of the words referred to.
[Wheatenhurst RDC Eastington Bridge.] A letter was read from Mr R E Stuart, Clerk to the Wheatenhurst Rural District Council, stating that the Council desired to call attention to the fact that Eastington Bridge was a danger to the public owing to its being so narrow and steep and asking if the Company could do anything to improve it, and the Clerk was instructed to reply that while the Company would facilitate the improvement, they were not able to bear the cost, and suggesting that the matter should be taken up by the District Council and brought before the County Council, with a view to the two Councils jointly carrying out the work of widening and improving the approach to the bridge.
[Motor Boats.] It was resolved that the Clerk be instructed to inform Mr James Stephens of Stonehouse in answer to his application, that the Company would charge 5^s/ for each trial for testing motor boats on the Canal.
[Mr Kimmins gravel washed into Canal at Ryeford.] The Clerk reported that he had written to Mr Kimmins with respect to the gravel washed into the Canal at Ryeford during storms, but had received no reply.
[Claim of Shares N^o 5, 6, 68, 93, 98 & 127 by Mr F S Whittingham] Ferdinand Samford Whittingham of Stroud in the County of Gloucester, Solicitor, attended under the written Authority of Edmund Thomas Moore Teesdale of 6 Frederick's Place Old Jewry in the City of London Gentleman, and Frederic Whitworth Jones of Brook House, Pulham St Mary Diss in the County of Norfolk Gentleman Executors of the Will of Maria Whitworth Jones late of Brook House Pulham St Mary Diss in the County of Norfolk Widow deceased, formerly of 115 Park Road Regents Park in the County of Middlesex and of 1 Brunswick Place Regents Park aforesaid (who died on the 29^th day of May 1905 at 24 Lyndhurst Road Lowestoft in the County of Suffolk) and who at the time of hr death held six shares in the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation numbered respectively 5: 6: 68: 93: 98: 127 and now standing in the name of the said Maria Whitworth Jones aforesaid deceased in the Books of the said Company, and made out their claim by producing the tickets or titles to the said six shares and the probate of the Will (with a Codicil thereto) the said Will and Codicil bearing date the 22^nd day of April 1891 and proved by the said Executors in the principal probate Registry of His Majestys High Court of Justice on the 27^th day of June 1905, and the claim was admitted accordingly and new Tickets or Titles ordered to be made out on the tickets or titles of the said shares being delivered up.
[Next Meeting 20^th Sept 1905.] The next Committee Meeting was fixed for the 20^th September, it being resolved not to hold a Meeting in August.
[Report "Canal Development"] The Report of the "Canal Development" Meeting held at Worcester on the 27th June last was read.
