Summary

[1906 January] Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on Wednesday the 17^th day of January 1906 @ 4.15 pm
Present: Mr C H Hooper, Chairman, Mr P J Evans, Mr E P Little, Mr A J M Ball, Sir W H Marling Bart, Mr W Davies, Mr S S Marling, Mr F A Little, Mr Whittingham, Solicitor in attendance.
[Ship Inn Compensation Fund] The Chairman reported the receipt by the Clerk of a cheque from Messrs Smith (Brimscombe Brewery) for the Rent to Christmas, of the 'Ship Inn', Wallbridge, but, instead of £10..- only £1..16..0, the difference being claimed as due from this Company to the 'Compensation Fund', under the Licensing Act, 1904, annually until the end of the existing Lease, in 1908. The Solicitors of the Company were requested to look into the matter, and give the Clerk the terms for a letter to Messrs Smith & Co in acknowledgment of their cheque.
[Towing Path Closing of same] The Clerk submitted a copy of the Notice to be posted, giving particulars as to the closing of the Towing paths of the Canal to the public, in the second week of February.
[Stroud R D Council Sewage Works Ebley] The Clerk reported that he had received no reply from the Stroud Rural District Council, to his letter of November 8^th 1905 as to access to their Sewage works, by the Canal towing paths. He was directed to allow their servant ready access on the occasion of the ensuing 'stoppage' of the path, upon request made, and granted in writing.
['Gale' on Sat Jan 6^th] Certain damages by the gale on Saturday January 6 were reported by Mr Snape.
