Right of way to Ryeford Cottages from Ryeford Bridge: In future periodical stoppages, any foot passengers claiming to be going to cottages by towpath from main road not to be hindered. Cycling precluded.
Survey reports read. Special attention to condition of structure and roadway of Ebley Bridge, deviation path near sewage works.
Mr Snape to see Mr Ward and arrange for some acknowledgment of wooden office, erected by him without permission.
Cracked plate of weighing machine to be replaced on terms of maker’s letter, 20 July.
Request by Cheltenham Bill Posting Co, who have continued tenancy of certain wall spaces under agreement with Rechab Wood at £7 a year, for new agreement, direct with themselves. Messrs Wood & Co, rival firm, proposed to rent wall spaces at £10 per year. At least £12 recognised value.
Policy of Lloyd’s Insurance against Workmen’s Compensation Liability handed to solicitors for examination.
Trespass of telephone poles at Whitminster on Mr Grey Robinson’s property adjusted, by removal of some within Company’s limits. 71 poles from Bond’s Mill now pay in advance. 1s yearly. Two crossings, Roving and Eastington Bridges. Two circuits each 5s and one cable, Wallbridge, 5s. Total £4 16s 0d already paid. Millend Mill, Eastington crossings will add 10s to this.
Letter from Mr Colchester-Weymss asking for exclusive fishing in canal from Bristol Road to the river, for a friend. Rental £12 per year. Fishing club in Gloucester. Friend Mr Terrell responsible for rent, amount up to £15. Club tenants mostly working men. Hope lower amount may be accepted. £15 rent for one year.
Proposed amendment to Public Health Act 1875 will enable local authorities to take water ‘otherwise than by agreement’. Solicitors to examine.
Committee Meeting held at Wallbridge on the 18^th day of September 1907 @ 4.15pm

{Gloucester Harbour Board] The Chairman read a letter from the Clerk of the Gloucester Harbour Board, acknowledging the appointment of H H Mills Esq as Trustee and Representative of this Company as from August 1^st ulto.
[Right of use Towing path Ryeford] The Chairman explained to the Committee that he had taken it on him to suspend the writing by the Solicitors of the letter to Mr Deane on the matter of the 'right of way' to the Ryeford Cottages from Ryeford Bridge, by the towpath, after consultation with the Vice Chairman, and in view of the Report of the Survey of Mr F A Little on July 25. The Committee now approved his action in so doing, and directed the Clerk to see that in future periodical stoppages, any foot passengers claiming to be going to these cottages by the towpath from the Main road, are not hindered (cycling on the towpath is precluded by our Bye-laws).
[Survey report read, Mr Littles & Chairmans] Mr Little's report on the section of the canal, from _Ryeford to Stroud_ was then read, as also that of the Chairman from _Ryeford to Eastington_. as well as the summary of these which he had made, as requested, for the Minute Book (foregoing)
Arising out of these, (beside the Ryeford right of way -above) the following were noted specially for attention:
1 The condition of Ebley Bridge - _structure & roadway_.
2 The deviation path, near the sewage works.
3 The wooden Office erected by Mr Ward, without permission, on Stonehouse Wharf - Mr Snape to see him and arrange some acknowledgement.
4 The cracked plate of the Weighing Machine there, To be replaced, in the terms of the makers letter July 20.
[Cheltenham Bill Posting etc Walls at Wallbridge] The Clerk reported that the request by the 'Cheltenham Billposting Coy' who have continued the tenancy of certain wall spaces, under the former agreement with Mr Rechab Wood (at £7 a year), for a new agreement direct with themselves. Also that in the meantime Messrs Wood & C^o, Stroud, a rival Firm, had proposed to rent the same wall spaces and give £10 per year. Mr Snape was instructed to inform the Company that a higher rent had been offered, and ask what _they_ would be prepared to give under a new Agreement. It was considered that _at least £12..-_ was now the recognised value of this.
[Workmens Insurance] The Clerk produced to the Committee the _Policy_ of 'Lloyd' Insurance against Workmens compensation Liability.
A question having been raised as to the responsibility of the 'Underwriters' guaranteeing, the Policy was handed to the Solicitors for their examination.
[Telephone Posts on Towing Path] The Clerk reported that all questions as to trespass of Telephone poles at Whitminster on Mr Grey Robinsons property had been adjusted, by the removal pf some within the Company's limits, and that 71 poles from Bonds Mill now pay (in advance) 1/- each, yearly, while, in addition, Two 'Crossings' (Roving and Eastington Bridge) - 2 circuits each @ 5/- (20^s/_ and one 'cable' (Walk Bridge) 5/- makes a total of £4..16..0 (already paid).
Tow other 'crossings' for a subsequent connexion with Millend Mill, Eastington, will add 10/- to this.
[Fishing in Canal] The Chairman read a letter (Aug 18) addressed to Mr Snape by Mr Colchester Wemyss desiring him "formally to ask leave for the exclusive fishing in the canal, from Bristol Road to the river for a friend ... at a rental of £12 per year. It will be held by a Fishing Club, in Gloucester, but my friend, Mr Terrell, will be responsible for the Rent and if the Board cannot accept a rental of £12..- he will guarantee an amount up to £15..-, but as the Club will be Tenants, and they are mostly working men, he hopes the lower amount may be accepted." The Chairman then read the previous minute (fo 70/71) on the subject, and the Committee decided to require £15 rent, and to agree to the proposal for one year, Jan 1 to Dec 31 1908, subject to an Agreement to be drawn up by the Solicitors, which should include all necessary conditions, as stated in the minute referred to. Mr Snape to reply to Mr Colchester Wemyss informing him of this.
[Bill to amend Public Health Act 1875] The Clerk produced a print of a Bill, forwarded by the Canal Association, intended to amend the Public Health Act 1875, so as to enable Local Authorities to take water 'otherwise than by Agreement'. This was handed to the Solicitors to examine.
