Summary

Mr Wilton, solicitor of Gloucester & Berkeley Canal Co, stated that in bill proposed for taking water for supply they are willing to introduce clauses for securing interest of Company of Proprietors of Stroudwater Navigation. Permission to take supply of water should be given subject to proper regulations.

At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Walbridge on Wednesday the 15^th day of January 1834
Present: M^r Joseph Fisher, M^r Wood, M^r T C Croome, M^r Samuel Fisher, M^r Tho Croome, M^r P H Fisher, M^r Grazebrook, M^r Eycott, M^r Geo Wathen.
Ordered that Samuel Smiths Account amounting to the Sum of £21..8.. be paid.
Ordered that Richard Bushell's Account amounting to the Sum of £19..11..4 be paid and James Butt's amounting to £3..2..1½.
George Wathen of the Lower Grange in the Parish of Painswick in the County of Gloucester Gentleman Administrator of John Hayward Wathen late of the same place Gentleman appeared and made out his Claim as such Administrator to one Share (N^o 156) in the undertaking called the Stroudwater Navigation standing in the name of he said John Hayward Wathen by producing an Administration to the said John Hayward Wathen dated the twenty third day of December 1833 taken from the Consistory Court of the Dioceses of Gloucester and the Claim of the said George Wathen as such Administrator was admitted accordingly.
The same George Wathen attended on the part of John Holbrow of Badbrook in the Parish of Painswick in the County of Gloucester Clerk the acting Executor named in the last Will and Testament of Thomas Holbrow of Badbrook aforesaid Esquire deceased and made out his Claim as such acting Executor as aforesaid to Six Shares (numbered 73, 53, 8, 15, 96 and 2) in the undertaking called the Stroudwater Navigation standing in the name of the said Thomas Holbrow by producing a Probate of the last Will and Testament of the said Thomas Holbrow bearing date the twenty eighth day of January One thousand eight hundred and twenty eight and proved by the said John Holbrow alone one of the said Executors in the Consistory Court of the Diocese of Gloucester on the eighth day of January instant and
the Claim of the said John Holbrow as such Executor as aforesaid was admitted accordingly.
M^r Wilton Solicitor of the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal Company having Stated that in the Bill proposed to be brought into Parliament for taking Water for the Supply of the Gloucester and Berkeley Canal Company the said Company is willing to introduce such Clauses as shall be required for securing the Interest of the Company of Proprietors of the Stroudwater Navigation.
Resolved that it is the opinion of this Committee that Permission to take such Supply of Water ought to be given subject to proper Regulations.
