Special Meeting. Following decease of Mr Hawker on 19 August papers, Mr Chosham has taken the keys to the boxes and the books are in the care of his brother, Mr Charles Hawker. Mr Mason to take possession of books, papers and cash.
At a Special Meeting of the Committee of the Stroudwater Navigation held at the Committee Room at Wallbridge on Monday the 21st day of August 1843
Present: M^r Cosham, M^r Beard, M^r Hughes, M^r Jos Fisher, M^r Sam^l Fisher, M^r Croome, M^r Wyatt in the Chair, M^r Eycott, M^r Jn^o Stanton, M^r Holbrow.
This Meeting having been called in consequence of the Decease of M^r Hawker the Clerk to the Company which took place on Saturday last the 19^th Inst. -- M^r Cosham reported that he had taken possession of the Keys of the Boxes of the Company; and that the Books are kept and that the management of the accounts remained in the care of his Brother M^r Charles Hawker.
It was resolved that M^r Mason, as the only present Clerk to the Company, do immediately take possession of the Books and other Papers belonging to the Company; and also of the Cash remaining in hand; and that he continue the same and the charge of the Accounts until the adjourned meeting of the Committee on Friday next, when the subject shall be again taken into consideration.
