Someone closed the gates of the Shallow lock. I thought I should inform you. Mr Jones will raise the matter.

The swing bridge at Ebley was owned by the late Mr Gyde. The Canal Company claims no right of way.

When Chandler passed through the Shallow Lock last Saturday, the G&B Canal was down about 12 inches. Your man is required to check the lock daily. The paddle was up. Saul Parish Council has no right to take water from the canal. I knew nothing of all this.
Saul Parish council have been taking water from the canal. They have paid nothing since 1902. Stop this.
If our chairman cannot attend your meetings he might ask the vice chairman to do so.
Nothing has been done to prevent the flow of gravel from your land into the canal. You undertook to raise the level of the sill. The canal is now filling up with silt. This will require dredging, which I ask you to pay for.
A gateway has been made in a newly erected iron fence along the towpath at the sewage settling tanks at Ebley. Your Council should pay the usual 2s 6d a year.
Re motor boat trials on the canal between the Double Lock and Newtown, I said the charge would be 10s per boat unless the Committee authorised a lower charge.
