Committee have considered your letters. Company approves of your suggestions subject to (a) avoiding emptying canal over long period . Supply of water to customers. (b) Peak flow too large from point of views of safety of canal banks. Surface drainage must be carried under canal to river. Canal not a drain for surface water. Re letter 28 June

Re recently drawn window opening in your property next canal towing path. Company's permission should have been obtained. In like cases annual quit rent of 2s 6d which Committee might grant subject to signing of Agreement at your expense.
