Enclosing copy of letter from Mr Knight from the 1st and one to him on 23rd October. Where have we failed in our obligations? I would be happy to meet him on the spot so please make an appointment. He has disappointed our ganger twice recently after fixing day and time to meet.
The rent you have agreed to pay for the premises at Eastington Wharf is £35 per year subject to the Company installing a larger weighbridge. You will need to improve the fence against the road. When I hear from you that you will sign an agreement I shall instruct the contractors to do any repairs to the Wharfhouse and any arrangements for the weighbridge unless there are further delays.
The Committee do not agree any reduction in rent.
Further to my previous two letters I beg to inform you that the repairs to the inside of the Wharfhouse and to the fence at Eastington are about to be undertaken. Please send the £25 due as per the agreement.
Please hand to the bearer the key of the Company's seal box.
We accept your estimate for painting and papering at the Wharfhouse at Eastington. Could you complete the work by the 25th as the tenant is anxious to be in?

I shall send you the Property Tax Demand Note when I receive it.
The Ship Inn, premises, stable, etc have been sold. I enclose Policy 16.506 as our solicitors do not understand why it was taken out as the sale was pending and they have already collected the proportion of the old policy to the 25 March from the purchasers whose solicitors decline to take on the new policy which is therefore useless.
I take it that Mr Chandler will allow us free access to the wall at Lodgemore at any time and remove and replace any of his goods that would hinder our repairing of the wall, at his expense.

Re Eastington Wharf: please proceed against Mr Whiting for rent from 29 September to 24 November 1925 for £3-4-8 and for repairs £25, as per last Wednesday's meeting.
When this Navigation was planning to keep the T&S Canal open we were told that your Company would contribute £25 for two years. The full amount promised from Navigations, Councils and Traders was £770 per annum. Please send your contribution at your earliest convenience. Signed J Margetson

Re T&S Canal: our payment for half year ended March 1926 was before the Committee on 27 January but there was no quorum so no cheques were drawn. The next meeting is on the 17th.

Your men with the boat 'Alfreda' work the Canal at night without our permission. With what has already happened this is formal notice that you are liable for any damage or loss caused by the working of the 'Alfreda' at any time.

What arrangements have you made with the West Gloucestershire Power Company so that I can inform my Committee?
Re Swing Bridge, Wheatenhurst: we are considering replacing the Bridge and wonder if you would prefer one suitable for today's heavy traffic rather than our obligation of a replacement bridge being able to take the same weight of traffic as the current bridge?
We would be glad to join the Council but can only offer a subscription of £2-2-0.
